CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Cedar Rapids Tourism Office is pleased to once again welcome the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) DIII Baseball Championships June 2-8, 2023. Eight winning teams from a field of 60 will advance to the pool play, double-elimination championship at Veterans Memorial Stadium’s Perfect Game Field.
“The Division III Baseball Committee is looking forward to bringing the championship back to Cedar Rapids and greatly appreciate the support from the community over the last four years.” says Aaron King, NCAA’s Assistant Director of Championships and Alliances.
“We are excited to once again be hosting NCAA DIII Baseball here in Cedar Rapids at a great venue, Veterans Memorial Stadium. We are fortunate to have remarkable partners in the American Rivers Conference & Cedar Rapids Kernels that put on a spectacular event focusing on the athlete and visitor experience.” says Jay Fanta, Director of Sports Tourism with the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office.
Cedar Rapids previously hosted the 2019, 2021 and 2022 NCAA DIII Baseball Championships. The 2020 tournament was slated for Cedar Rapids as well, but was ultimately cancelled due to Covid-19.
The 2023 Championship consists of 17 total games, 2 pools and 8 teams across 6 days of competition. The first round kicks off Friday, June 2nd with the schedule below:
Friday, June 2nd
- 10:00 a.m. Game 1, Misericordia University vs Johns Hopkins University
- 1:15 p.m. Game 2, Endicott College vs Baldwin Wallace University
- 4:30 p.m. Game 3, Salisbury University vs East Texas Baptist University
- 7:45 p.m. Game 4, Lynchburg College vs University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
