**Because of rain in the forecast the location has been moved from Veterans Memorial Park to inside the coliseum in downtown Cedar Rapids.** Memorial Day (observed) program. NOW inside at the Veterans Memorial Building, Coliseum, downtown Cedar Rapids, May’s Island.
This is an annual and traditional, one-hour long observance of Memorial Day. Service includes an opening prayer, posting of colors, guest speaker, volley salute and more.

Memorial Day is an American federal holiday, and it lands on May 27th this year. Memorial Day is a way to honor military members who died in the line of duty. Join the Cedar Rapids community at 10 am, May 27th for an indoor traditional Memorial Day observance that includes an opening prayer, live patriotic music, presentation of the Colors, guest speaker, volley salute, and more. The local area Metro Veterans’ Council facilitates this program each year, with logistic assistance from the Veterans Memorial Commission.
