Family Time: Outdoor Style - Winter

Cedar Rapids has long been called the City of Five Seasons, with the fifth season being the time to enjoy the other four. Check out these unique adventure-filled activities the whole family can relish in Winter!

Winter

Wander through downtown’s joyful Holidays Lights as the city is aglow with holiday cheer. Greene Square Park, in the heart of Cedar Rapids, is especially magical during December.

As the temperature drops, the outdoor adventures rise! Skate on over to the Outdoor Ice Rinks (Noelridge and Hughes parks). Bundle up and slide down the area’s best Sledding Hills at Pinicon Ridge, Wanatee, Jones, Bowman Woods, Shawnee, Thomas, Donnelly and Van Vechten parks. Strap in for Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Skiing trails at Indian Creek Nature Center, Seminole Valley Park, Sac and Fox Trail, Matsell Bridge Natural Area, Ellis Golf Course and Twin Pines Golf Course.
