CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Cedar Rapids Tourism Office is proud to announce that Iowa Gym-Nest’s Winter Wonderland Invitational will call Cedar Rapids home February 17-19, 2023. More than 1700 athletes will take over the Alliant Energy PowerHouse and Cedar Rapids Convention Complex. Trampoline and Tumbling events will take place in Cedar Rapids Convention Complex and all Artistic events will take place in the Alliant Energy PowerHouse.
“We are excited to be in Cedar Rapids and welcome more than 1700 athletes from seven States for Winter Wonderland. This is our largest Winter Wonderland EVER and we are thrilled to be able to offer it in such a great setting and have the ability to expand in the coming years! We have ages from six-year-olds and their first-time competing to seniors in High School that are seasoned veterans,” says Jill Hanna, Meet Director with Iowa Gym-Nest.
This year, the Winter Wonderland Invitational undertakes a new format combining the trampoline and tumbling competition with the artistic events. “We are excited to work with Iowa Gym-Nest and bring the evolution of this high-energy event to downtown Cedar Rapids. A large number of regional participants have registered, which makes for a great attendee event and a win for our local hospitality community,” says Jay Fanta, Director of Sports Tourism with the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office.
Iowa Gym-Nest, established in 1973 as a gymnastics school, has become a full-service sports facility for Gymnastics for all ages, Dragon NINJA, Dragon Spectrum, Sports & Adventure Camps and youth fitness. Iowa Gym-Nest is excited to be celebrating 50 years of business. There will be interactive displays at the competition to help celebrate this massive milestone!
