Grand Opening of the Homestead Folk Art Museum
Overview
The Homestead Folk Art Museum will showcase a diverse collection of folk art pieces, including traditional crafts, textiles, woodworking, and paintings, all created by Amana Colonies artists. The exhibits highlight the creativity and storytelling that define the Amana community, providing a deeper understanding of the artistic expressions that have flourished in Iowa since the 1850s.
“We are excited to open our doors to the public and celebrate the unique heritage of our Amana community,” said Rebecca Simpson, Curator of the Homestead Folk Art Museum. “This museum is a tribute to the artisans who have shaped our community through creativity, and we can’t wait to share their stories.”
During this free event, donations are encouraged to support ongoing programs and exhibitions.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Homestead Folk Art Museum, where creativity and culture come to life!
