Carrie: The Musical, Theatre Cedar Rapids

Vintage Hitchcock: Alive Radio Play, Giving Tree Theater

Sept. 27th – Oct.13th
Spies, murder, love, and other trademarks of Alfred Hitchcock come to life in the style of a 1940s radio broadcast of the master of suspense’s earlier films.

Pumpkin Fest, Bloomsbury Farm

Oct. 4th – 27th (Friday-Sundays)

Art at Bucemore: Ceramic Ghosts, Brucemore

Oct. 13th
Brucemore and Iowa Ceramic Center are teaming upjust in time for Halloween! In this workshop, participants will build their own unique ghost from clay, using various hand-building techniques. Multiple time available.

Spooky Legends of Linn County, The History Center

Oct. 18th, 7 p.m.
Don’t miss the authentic Linn County ghost stories told by storyteller Darrin Crow, including campfires, s'mores and hot cocoa.

Bawdy Horror!!, South Side Olympic Theater

Oct. 18th, 8 – 11 p.m.
Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha’s 18+ Halloween burlesque & variety experience is glamourous, gory and will make your toes curl in more ways than one!

Enjoy the annual old-fashion Halloween at the village with trick or treating, games, costume contests. Registering in advance is encouraged but not required.

Creep the Alley Walking Tour, The History Center

Oct. 22nd, 6 p.m.
Explore the dark side of downtown architecture with this unique (and spooky) historic alley tour.

2nd Annual Halloween Family Fun Party, Quarter Barrel Arcade & Brewery

Spooky Swim, Bender Pool

Celebrate Halloween at Bender Pool. Kids will receive a bag of treats as you leave. No preregistration required.

Meet the Author: Katie Hopkins, The History Center

Oct. 25th, 6:30 p.m.
Come out for an unforgettable evening with Cedar Rapidian Katie Hopkins, a seasoned paranormal investigator who claims she can “see” spirits. With a wealth of experience exploring some of the most haunted locations across America’s Midwest, Katie will take you on a captivating journey into the world of the paranormal.

Rocky Horrow Picture Show, NewBo City Market

Oct. 25th, 8:00 p.m.
Rocky Horror Picture Show comes to life once again at NewBo City Market! Join us for the singing, dancing, screaming, and an occasional thrown object. Local burlesque troupe Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha will lead the pre-show activities, including the audience-judged costume contest! 

Morbid Curiosities: An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe, Giving Tree Theater

Oct. 25th – 26th, 7:30 p.m.
The master of Gothic horror comes from beyond the veil to talk with audiences about his life and share his best stories and poetry, including “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”

Weekend of Witchery, Illuminations Cedar Rapids

Oct. 25th – 27th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Checkout Illuminations for a Weekend of Witchery including workshops, rituals, author signings, palmistry and more.

Dia de los muertos Celebration, Mi Lindo Vallarta

Oct. 25th - Nov. 2
Mi Lindo Vallarta is hosting a special Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, Celebration October 25 through November 2, during which time the people of Mexico build shrines of flowers and elaborately colored calaveras azucar, skulls made of sugar, to honor their loved ones and ancestors. 

14th Annual Wickiup Fall Festival, Wickiup Hill Learning Center

Oct. 26th, 10 a.m.
Head out to Wickiup and experience a friendly trick or treat hike through the woods, pumpkin bowling, straw scramble, creepy critters, and more! Aimed at ages 3-10, but younger and older siblings welcome. Costumes encouraged! Cost $3/child.

Dog-o-ween: A Hawl-oween Celebration, NewBo City Market

Oct. 26th, 10 a.m.
Bark or Treat! Join us from 11am to 3pm along with your beloved furry companion for a delightful day filled with a canine costume contest, a Dog and Owner Photo Booth, a showcase of small businesses offering a variety of dog-related products, and so much more.

Halloween Tailgate, Kingston Yard

Oct. 26th, 12:30 p.m.
Calling all ghouls and goblins: Join Big Grove Brewery & Taproom Cedar Rapids at Kingston Yard for a spooktacular day of Halloween fun!

Spooky Skate, ImOn Ice Arena

Oct. 26th, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Are you ready for a fright? Join ImOn Ice's Halloween fun for spooky themed games, crafts and of course, ice skating! $12 per skater which includes admission and skate rental.

Interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cedar Rapids Public Library

Oct. 26th, 2 p.m.
“Let’s do the time warp again!” Prop bags will be provided, and costumes are encouraged to enjoy this cult classic that was released almost 50 years ago! This showing is 18+.

7th Annual Official Halloween Bar Crawl, Downtown Cedar Rapids

Oct. 26th, 4 p.m.
Don’t miss downtown’s biggest bar crawl of the year! Join in the crawl in costume for exclusive drink and food specials, costume contest, professional photographers and afterparty!

2nd Annual Haunted Hospital, Katz Simulation Center

Oct. 26th, 4 p.m.
Get ready for spine-tingling thrills at Kirkwood Community College’s Second Annual Haunted Hospital. Open to the public, this spooky event will transform the simulation center into a haunted house packed with medical-themed scares, ghouls, and even a special appearance by Kirkwood’s mascot, Sammy the Eagle—all in support of the Respiratory Therapy program!

Halloween Rooftop Party, Pickle Palace

Oct. 26th, 7 p.m.
Get your costumes out for some haunting good times with special drinks schedule, Halloween games and costume party! Entry is free and open to the public!

5th Annual Llama-ween, Prairie Patch Farm

Oct. 26th-27th
You know Halloween, but have you experienced LLAMAWEEN!? Join us for the corridors truly unique halloween event! Take the costume-clad llamas  for a walk through the new spooky barn and enjoy time on the farm for this family-friendly event! 

Sensory-Friendly Halloween, Iowa Children’s Museum

Oct. 27th, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
This free event offers sensory-friendly activities in a calmer environment. Costumes are encouraged (but not required!) as you look for our “treat stations” and not-too-spooky Halloween activities throughout the museum.

Pipescreams, FaithLife Lutheran Church

Oct. 27th, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
A Spooktacular Organ Concert featuring Halloween-Themed Organ Music sponsored by the River Valley American Guild of Organists Chapter. Come enjoy an evening of Halloween-Themed Organ music. Costumes encouraged, but not required. Treats and goodies after the concert. FREE and open to the public.

Halloween Vendor Market, Stillwater Coffee Co.

Oct. 27th, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Enjoy a morning of shopping, kids activities & yummy food and drink specials!

Creep the Alley Walking Tour, The History Center

Oct. 29th, 6 p.m.
Downtown alleys reveal a great deal of history about Cedar Rapids buildings and they can be a little spooky too! Come explore the dark side of downtown architecture with this unique historic alley tour.

Tarot Card Wood Engraving, Cedar Rapids Public Library

Oct. 29th, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Designs will be engraved ahead of time so attendees will have the full time to decorate with watercolor, felt markers, and more. Registration Required.

HalloWeek, Iowa Children's Museum

Oct. 29th – Nov. 2nd, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Enjoy a weekend of not-too-scary Halloween activities that kids of all ages will enjoy! Bats, spiders, pumpkins and more will take over the exhibits during the spooky season.

Halloween Party, The Ideal Theater & Bar

Oct. 31st, 7 p.m.
Party with real ghosts in the 110 year old Ideal Theater and enjoy free entry, Halloween happy hour (4-6 p.m.), Rocky Horror Picture SHow on the Big screen (7 p.m.), Karaole with Vidal (9 p.m.) and a costume contest awarded at midight!

Oct. 31st, 10 p.m.
Cedar Rapids' premier LGBTQ nightclub will be hopping this Halloween with Kimmy, Taystee, Roxie, Jazzmen. Daphne and more!

3rd Annual Day of the Dead, NewBo City Market

Nov. 1st, 6 p.m.
Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a Mexican tradition that honors deceased loved ones. Families create altars with offerings and visit cemeteries to celebrate and remember, often with painted faces, vibrant decorations, and festive parades. It's a lively and heartfelt tribute to the cycle of life and death.

X-Halloween Tournament & Costume Party, X-Golf Cedar Rapids

Nov. 1st, 7 p.m.

Nov. 2nd, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Don’t miss the first ever Pumpkin Destruction Fest! Look forward to pumpkin destruction events all day, hundreds of goats munching on the pumpkin patch and all your favorite Bloomsbury activities.

HAUNTED ATTRACTIONS

The 5th Realm, Lindale Mall

Sept. 28th – Nov. 2nd (Thursday-Sundays), 7 – 10 p.m.
This annual, indoor haunted attraction is located inside Lindale Mall tells a new tale of horrors each year and is a can’t miss for those who love a good scare! The terrifying experience is fully accessible, but please note there are strobe lights and fog effects used throughout. 

Circle of Ash, Linn County Fair Grounds

Sept. 28th - Nov. 1st  (Fridays & Saturdays), 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Circle of Ash rises again! Mixing elements of indoor & outdoor style haunted attractions, Circle of Ash delivers the best of both worlds. All new areas of total darkness await and beautiful, scary sets for monsters to hide. Are you brave enough to go first?

Scream Acres, Bloomsbury Farm

Oct. 4th – 26th  (Fridays & Saturdays)
With over 75 creepers, clowns, and zombies - and FOUR haunted attractions, Scream Acres Scream Park offers an all-inclusive haunted house experience for all ages. The question is, can you make it through?

2nd Annual Haunted Forest & House, 2515 8th Ave, Marion IA

Oct. 25th – 26th, 5 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Come join us for our second annual haunted forest and haunted house!! Start the night off with your little ones as you stroll through our haunted forest for a little trick-or-treating and face-painting (starting at 5 p.m.) For the brave at heart, older kids & adults can go through our haunted house! (starting at 8 p.m.)

The Cedar Rapids Haunted Garage, 6914 Terrazzo Drive N.W., Cedar Rapids

Oct. 25th – 31st , 6:30 – 10 p.m.
The Haunted Garage is back! Check out one of C.R.'s favortite terrifying traditions with FREE ADMISSION. (Canned goods accepted for the Salviation Army, but not required). Have little ones but don't want to traumatize them? Hit up the Kids Matinee where the actors and jump scares stand down for a family-friendly fright on Saturday, October 25th from 1-3 p.m. 

The Tronvold's Haunted Animatronics Showcase, 1900 Gardner Dr N.W., Cedar Rapids

Nov. 1st , 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Step into the eerie world of the Tronvold House this Halloween, where over 200 spine-chilling animatronics come to life in a breathtaking display of fright and fascination. As night falls, the Tronvold’s property transforms into a haunted haven, featuring meticulously crafted figures that capture the essence of Halloween..

Oct. 22nd, 1 – 4 p.m.
Enjoy the annual old-fashion Halloween at the village with trick or treating, games, costume contests. Registering in advance is encouraged but not required.

2nd Annual Trunk Or Treat, Tanager's Estle Center

Oct. 24th, 5-6:30 p.m.
Eastern Iowa Health Center and Tanager host the second annual Trunk or Treat event at Tanager’s Estle Center. All are welcome. Costumes encouraged. Come for candy, games and lots of fun! 

319 Jeep’s Club Trunk-Or-Treat, Lindale Mall

Oct. 26th, 5 – 7 p.m.
Stop by and be ready to fill your bags up with candy while enjoying the area’s Jeeps lined up and decorated.

District Trick or Treat, The District: Czech Village & New Bohemia

Oct. 26th
Have the kiddos throw on their Halloween costumes and enjoy this safe, daytime Trick or Treating experience.

Trunk Or Treat, 1556 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids

Oct. 26th, 5 – 7 p.m.
CAAP Community Aid and Assist program is partnering with Save US from US non profit organization and Breakfasthouse Restaurant to make this a special time for community. So bring the kiddos out for a spooktacular time.

Trunk Or Treat & Halloween Party, SpareTime Entertainment

Oct. 27th, 2 – 4 p.m.
Free to all, join SpareTime for a spooktacular afternoon! Dress up in your favorite costume and come trick-or-treat in our parking lot. Enjoy pumpkin painting (while supplies lasts), a costume contest, face painting, and fun music! We will have plenty of candy, games, and fun activities for the whole family.

Trunk Or Treat, Chrit Episcopal Church Cedar Rapids

Oct. 27th, 3 – 5 p.m.
