Your next family getaway is just moments away at Bass Family Farms.
Right off highway 30 in Mount Vernon, across the street from Palisades-Kepler State Park, Bass Farms is a slice of paradise perfect for fall family fun.
During the fall season, Bass Farms comes alive with pumpkins, mums, hayrack rides, games, bounce houses, putt putt golf, sling shots and much much more.
Owner Chris Bass knows it can be hard for families to escape the hustle and bustle of their busy lives. As a farmer and father of two of his own, Bass drew inspiration from the calm, meditative nature of the farm and wanted to open it up for others to experience.
“A farm is great for your soul because it’s unplugged. There’s no stimulus or noise out here. ... It’s far enough outside the city, you can still see that stars and night,” Bass said. “We want people to unplug from their daily life and their normal routine, break it up a little bit and come out and enjoy the beauty of this time of year, create great memories and have a great expereience out here. ”
While the farm’s activities are mostly geared toward kids, there’s plenty of fun for the whole family to enjoy. Adults can share the fun with giant jenga, putt putt golf, an adult teeter totter and more.
In addition to all the outdoor activities, Bass Farms also offers a wide selection of local items in their shop, including fresh farm vegetables, plants, local meats, canned goods, wines, décor and more.
The Fall Festival runs each September through the end of October every weekend at Bass Farms. Admission is charged - check website below for rates. Visit their website or Facebook page for more details.
