Cultural Corridor

What's your favorite Cultural Attractions?

  • Amana Colonies
“Our family loves to explore the Amanas! The year-round Christmas store, Maifest and the family-style authentic German restaurants are group favorites.” – Dawn H.
  • Iowa Masonic Library and Museum
“One of the many things you must see is [the] original Grant Wood painting. Done nine years before his iconic American Gothic was completed and is in a very different style than his other works.” – Julia W.
  • Our Mother (Lady) of Sorrows Grotto
“There is this tranquil little spot on the Mount Mercy grounds that I love to walk through. Surrounded in the activity of youth, its a peaceful place to breath and reflect. Its also a beautiful work of art.” – Marie C.
  • African American Museum of Iowa
“My favorite part about the African American Museum of Iowa outside of being a Board Member, would be our exhibits. AAMI has rotating exhibits that educate more than 30,000 people a year, with our traveling exhibits, programs, virtual presentations and online collection that help expand the mission of teaching the African American heritage of Iowa. I learn something new about my culture every time I walk through the doors of AAMI, and I appreciate the education I can teach my kids.” – Anthony B. Jr.
  • Cedar Rapids Public Library
“As a parent of 3, I love allowing my kids to safely explore and expand their knowledge within the welcoming library community. The rooftop is a favorite stop for us, and the staff are keenly aware of the importance of their role in this environment.” – Gina L.
